Girls Guide to Blogging

Blogher, “the community for women who blog” is currently holding a contest to honor the most inspiring bloggers on the internet with a free trip to San Francisco and tickets to their annual conference. They are looking for bloggers who have passion for their work, are innovative and who inspire their community.

After considering the hundreds of blogs I subscribe to, I’ve decided that I feel like Gala from iCiNG.com best matches these criteria. Tragically, the contest winner must be a resident of the United States and Gala lives in Australia.

Since I am unable to officially nominate Gala, I will just post why she is my blogging hero here:

Gala Darling

Gala catalogs her quest for self improvement on her blog and she gives her community the tools to follow her example. For example, she is currently running the iCiNG transformation challenge a challenge to her readers to improve their lives and help each other with the process. She provides some ground rules that help readers avoid falling into the “I will loose 10 pounds” trap.

Gala is tremendously creative and is constantly surprising and inspiring me with her content. iCiNG was one of the first blogs I ran across that had truly been customized to the fit the author’s personality. iCiNG inspired me to revamp Chic and Charming and truly customize it, not matter how many hours of tinkering it took! I also love that Gala sells a party guide, which she authored, through her blog.

Overall, I think Gala Darling is the absolute embodiment of the criteria for being a “Blogher Hero,” and I think it is too bad that I will not be able to nominate her!
