First off, you are handling the situation in a very chic and charming manner and I applaud you.

While I can respect i love factory, they would have handled the situation better not by asking you to remove the comment, but rather by leaving their own PR-esque comment in response to “anonymous.” That would have aided in their own credibility. By not leaving a comment and instead requesting the removal of the comment (which in my mind is a bully tactic), I am now suspicious of both parties.

That is a difficult situation. After many years in the fashion industry I have seen and experienced this multiple times. Sometimes you just have to take it with a grain of salt. If they have not infringed on a trademark or patent, there is not much you can do. I would say to both designers. Protect any private info to the best of your ability, then market your product like crazy. Everything comes from somewhere and it is possible you have found the same inspiration. Good Luck to both designers! I think it is great the way hats have made a come back. Plenty of room for everyone in this market! Be creative and have fun because in the end, that is what it’s all about.
